SEO Tactics, Tips & Helpful Advice - No. 37

So, how's that New Year's resolution going?

Did you make at least one resolution for your company's website?

If not, here are few ideas:

  • Resolve to keep your website's content fresh. Humans love to read new stuff. That's why some of the most popular sites on the Internet are CNN, ESPN, Weather, etc.
  • Write at least one article (500 words per month) for your website. Make sure the article helpful and informative and not a sales pitch.
  • Start a blog. Now.
  • Make it a goal to write at least once a week in your blog. If you don't have time, make time. If you can't, ask others on staff if they will write something for your blog. If they won't (fire them?), then ask some of your customers to write a guest blog.
  • The best way to get other websites to link to your website is to give them a reason to link to your site - a white paper, a download, a free trial, a coupon - or an article about why your fired your employees because they refused to write for your blog.
